Obituary for Helen L. Brown

Helen L. Brown
Helen L. (Stepler) Brown, 92, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Manor care. She was born April 20, 1925 in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Harry A. and Mildred E. (Johns) Stepler. Helen was a lifelong member of King Street United Brethren Church where she was a member of the Buds of Promise Sunday School Class. She worked seasonally for the Heinz Company but her main job was at Corning where she worked for 40 years, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed socializing with friends at church, reading the Daily Bread, Shopping trips, craft shows and going out to eat. Helen loved people and made friends easily. Her inner light shone through and people were drawn to her knowing that she was there to help them when needed. She is survived by two daughters: Louise West (Mike), Chambersburg and Audrey Whitsel (Bill) Enola; four grandchildren: Matthew West (Jen), Jennifer Ozio (Joe), Megan Whitsel (Owen), Joe Whitsel; three great grandchildren: Olivia, Sydney, Erik and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Paul L. Brown; two brothers: Robert Stepler and Harry Stepler Jr. The service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the W.F. Sellers Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Cook officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sellersfuneralhome.com
