Obituary for Gerald Leberknight

Gerald  Leberknight
Gerald Thomas Leberknight, 84 of Chambersburg passed away at home on Monday, January 1, 2018. He was born May 28, 1933 in Orrstown, the son of the late Gerald A. and Hazel M. (Ingram) Leberknight. A 1953 graduate of Shippensburg High School, he was also a member of the St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scotland, PA. Gerald started his working career as a feed truck delivery man for Farm Bureau, and then he worked as a feed truck delivery man for Agway, and finished his working career in June 1993 as a member of the highway sign crew for the Department of Transportation in Franklin County. In 1958, he became a member of the Orrstown Masonic Lodge #262, in 1964; he became a charter member of General James Chambers Lodge # 801 and is currently a member of the George Washington Lodge #143. Gerald is also a member of the Patriotic Order of the Sons of America # 645, Orrstown, PA. Gerald loved the outdoors and liked to do carpentry work. He is survived by his wife of 57 1/2 years, Doris Arlene (Lesher) Leberknight who he married on May 1, 1960 in the First United Brethern Church. He is also survived by his son, Gerald M. Leberknight; seven nieces, nine nephews and one great niece; a brother-in-law, Norman C. Clawson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn L. and George H. Baughman; in-laws, Chester M. and Mary (Garber) Lesher; two sister-in-law‘s: Carrie Ella Lesher and Mary Margaret (Lesher) Clawson. The Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Sellers Funeral Home With Pastor Christopher Frye officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Masonic Rites will be at 1:30 p.m. The family requests no flowers.
