The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Margaret Sponsler can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Anna Ruth Knepper
Condolence: My sincere sympathy in the passing of your dear mother and my close friend. I first came to know Margaret when she came to the Manor Building in Penn Hall and was seated at my table. We were table mates for a long time, and our friendship grew close like sisters. We would confide to each other about most everything.
Margaret always looked forward and enjoyed her daughters visiting. They also made me feel like part of the family when they visited. I miss Margaret's numerous visits with me at the nursing center. Her visits always brightened my days. She was an "one of a kind" friend and special lady. May God send special blessings to your family as you go thru this difficult time. Lovingly, Anna Ruth

Condolence From: Maggie (Armstrong) Chapman
Condolence: Dear John, Carol, Chris and Martha

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I have fond memories of our two families having picnics and celebrating holidays together.

Our mothers maintained a friendship for many years, and I remember Pat driving up to visit your mom in Pennsylvania as long as she was able to drive.

I was very touched to receive a call from Martha last year. She had been instructed by your mom to find me and check to see that I was okay after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston (I was).

I hope you remember the fun times with your mom and know that she was well loved.

Maggie (Armstrong) Chapman

Condolence From: Cindy Happel
Condolence: I visited Margaret for eight to ten years... originally as a visiting Deacon, but later as one of her many friends. The visits were ALWAYS pleasurable. We would discuss books we were currently reading, she would show me her current art projects, she delightedly shared her “Marvelous Margaret” book. We would watch the pictures scroll on her electronic picture frame and she would tell me who we were seeing.

I will miss her very, very much. My life is richer for having spent time with Margaret.
